How the academy teaches
One page a day, three habits at a time, two years long. Here is why it is built that way and what we will not do.
One page a day
Every day of every Season has one page. It says what today asks, usually in under three minutes of reading, and it is written in plain text because a habit is learned by doing it in the kitchen, not by watching someone do it on a screen. Day 3 tells you to set six reminders and Day 13 asks which of them found the tongue up. Day 43 is the tape decision, with the caveats before the enthusiasm. Day 90 is the White Belt Check, which is a self-report, not an exam.
The whole first week is open the day you join, with the Orientation, the Season map and the first long read, so you can see what you have bought. From Day 8 each page is released on its own morning; the point of a daily page is that it arrives when you can act on it. If you miss a day, the page waits. The Season is ninety days long only if you do it in ninety days, and most people take longer. Every seventh day asks three questions about the week, answerable in a line each, and says what the expected answer is so you know whether you are on schedule.
Three habits, in order
Season One trains tongue posture first, sealed lips second, nasal breathing third, in that order and not at once. A tongue on the palate closes the lips most of the way on its own; taught first, the seal produces pursed lips and a clenched jaw. Breathing comes last because it needs the other two as a starting position rather than a task. Every later Season adds one layer to that base: chewing, face reading, the night, the honest audit, teaching others.
Where the evidence stops
Everything we teach carries a grade in the evidence register, from A (trials or reviews) down to D (contradicted). We teach A and B claims as instruction. We teach C claims as tools to try, with the caveats first, and we tell you when a tool has had three weeks and it is time to stop trying harder and ask a doctor. The claim that a resting tongue reshapes an adult upper jaw over years is a C, and we say so on Day 1: the mechanism is real, the controlled study has not been done, and we neither claim it nor dismiss it. The Season is built so that whatever the bone does, you leave it with a closed mouth, a nasal breath, a quieter head and better sleep.
The referral rule
Loud snoring with pauses, waking headaches, a nose that never opens on one side, jaw pain that stays after you stop clenching, a child's crooked bite. Those outrank the course. The page that raises one tells you to go, and we would rather lose a member to a good ENT than keep one who should have gone. Who to see and what to say is on one page, linked from every lesson that raises it. We do not diagnose, we do not sell supplements or devices, and no leader in the community will tell you to skip a surgery you were advised to have.
The timescale, said plainly
Where adult bone change has been measured at all, it takes months to years, and whether tongue posture produces any is an open question. So the numbers we ask you to keep are the ones that move on a human timescale: how many hours a day your lips are sealed, your resting breath rate, how far you can walk on the nose, what your mouth did last night. You take photos before Day 1, on Day 30, Day 60 and Day 90, and you keep them for yourself. If anyone shows you a two-week transformation, that is a lighting change.
Who writes this
The academy writes in the first person plural because it is a small team, not a personality. The method descends from Dr. John Mew's orthotropic work and Mike Mew's continuation of it; Mike Mew records a short introduction to each Season and does not teach inside the course. The daily pages, the register and the community are ours to defend, and the address for anything on them is [email protected].
Read the syllabusThe first week costs nothing
Days 1 to 7 of Season One are the free week. You take your baseline photos, find where the tongue rests and set six daily checks. If it is not for you, cancel before Day 8 and nothing is charged.
